Kiosk tipping

Why do self-order kiosks ask for tips?

Self-order kiosks put the customer in charge of ordering, entering information, and often collecting the item. The archive tracks when a tip prompt appears and what choices the screen presents.

Timing changes the question

A kiosk can ask before the order is prepared, after pickup, or at a staffed counter. The report should say when the request appeared, not just the percentage.

Defaults and custom buttons

A high suggested percentage, a preselected button, and a custom amount flow are separate patterns. We keep them separate so readers can understand what the customer actually had to do.
