The share of published reports where a tip request appeared before the customer received the service or product.
How this was calculated
The archive records a before-service flag only when the source or submission provides enough detail. “After service or not reported” combines two different situations and should not be read as proof that service happened first.
Only approved, non-demo reports are included. Duplicates and pending submissions are excluded. This is descriptive archive data, not a survey of all U.S. businesses.
