When the buttons keep climbing

What counts as a very high tip option?

There is no single percentage that proves a prompt is inappropriate. Tip Creep Tracker uses a clear browse label for reports where at least one suggested percentage reaches 30% or higher, then keeps the date and source visible so readers can make their own judgment.

The 30% threshold

The very-high-tip label is a sorting tool, not a credibility score. A report can be unusual and still need more context. Check whether the amount was merely offered, preselected, or required extra steps to decline.

Defaults and preselection are different

A high button is not automatically a preselected tip. The report detail shows the distinction when the source provides it, along with whether a no-tip option was visible.

How to share a clear example

Include the place, date, amounts, and a source link. A photo or video helps readers understand the screen, but it is optional.
